The David Barton Function Band was formed in the summer of 2009, featuring Graham Keenan on Drums, Freddy B on guitar and backing vocals and David Barton on Keyboard and lead vocals. The band play a wide range of songs, mainly from 50s through to 70s Rock 'n' Roll but can tailor their set to suit a specific type of event if required. Lead vocalist and pianist, David Barton, has had experience of performing alongside high profile artists such as Jazz maestro Jamie Cullum and took support to Classical Superstar Katherine Jenkins in 2007. On the drums is Graham Keenan, who has also toured and supported many bands during the early 70s, including Free and Black Sabbath! Freddy B who is the lead guitarist and backing vocalist, has a great feel to the Blues/Rock guitar and with over 30 years of performing experience around the region playing clubs and pubs, he completes the line-up of The David Barton Function Band.
A band guilty of playing damn fine music. One of the most exciting bands you will ever see, this is no ordinary cover band. Essentially a 5 piece with the line-up of drums, bass, guitar, Keyboards and vocals, all with nice shirts, but don't be fooled by the band's fashion sense, this can be a powerful combination in the right wardrobe. This band will guarantee live music. No cds, mini discs, midi files, no glorified karaoke. With over eight hundred and forty years of experience between them, this five piece band's vast range of musical influences and experience shines through in their live shows - A no-nonsense tight, but never the same set twice with a good sprinkling of harmonies and humour... If you have a venue, that needs a live band, and if you can catch them on an available date then maybe you can hire Dr Jekyll's Secretary. The Band is fronted by the extraordinary charismatic vocal chord wielding Andy (Dr Jekyll). Larger than life drum and percussion sounds provided by Pete (Dr Watson). Soaring guitar leads & delicate plucking courtesy of guitars held by Adrian (Mr Hyde). Bass strings tickled, slapped, strummed, pies eaten by the never knowingly understood Nigel (Professor Morriati), and last but not least the strange apparition that is Steve (Dr Crippen). Dr Jekyll's Secretary...Classic Hits and the Best New Music So there you have it! An entertaining band with such a diverse set of popular music, from the 1950s up to the 2000s. Just be careful not to feed Dr Watson after midnight, get in the Professors bad books, accept any drinks from Dr Jekyll or a lift from Mr Hyde. and for heavens sake stay away from Dr Crippen...........
